Irwin County Elementary School uses the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Program to reward students who embody the school’s motto of being “respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.” Students can earn rewards such as Indian Bucks that can be traded for prizes.
One of the favorite rewards that the PBIS program offers are Positive Behavior Referrals. When students go “above and beyond” and show leadership, kindness, honesty, or other positive traits without being prompted, they earn a gaming time reward.
Students spend their Positive Behavior Referral time in the media center’s gaming area, where they can play Nintendo Switch or Playstation 5 games. This reward is a popular incentive and a great way to reward I.C.E.S. students’ positive behavior.
